United Way seeking volunteers for Day of Caring Sept. 13

Aug 11, 2023

Monroe County’s biggest annual volunteer event is set for Sept. 13, and there’s still time to get involved.

The Pocono Mountains United Way kicks off its annual Day of Caring at 8 a.m. at Barley Creek Brewing Company (1774 Sullivan Trail, Tannersville). Volunteers will receive T-shirts and breakfast and hear from a few speakers before heading out to their volunteer sites around 9 a.m.

Volunteer opportunities include cleaning up Main Street in Stroudsburg, sprucing up the Women’s Resources of Monroe County building, making cards and painting plant pots for Meals on Wheels clients, splitting and hauling wood at Spruce Lake Retreat (bring a chainsaw or wood splitter if you can) and more.
